The Squares
After passing the Hexagon, Sarah left me to have a wander and take some more pictures. I started with Square 2 and the entrance to the Computer Science Department where I had spent most of time at the university.
Out through the passageway I could see the quays and the Boundary Road and behind me were the four North Towers.
Walking back here’s a view of the old Computer Science building.
Squares 2 and 3 and the LTB
Looking across Square 2 and across Square 3.
Square 1 was having more buildings added to extend the Electronics and Computer Science faculties. I noticed that every available space was now filled with buildings. For example even the space between Keynes and William Morris Towers and the space between Square 2 and the old Lecture Theatre Block were now filled.
The corner of Square 2 was now the Student Union Bar and just past was the path to the Lecture Theatre Block (LTB).
Past the LTB were the South Towers and the new sports facilities.
The North Towers
My walk next took me back to Square 2 and the Hexagon and onto the open space before the North Towers.
The open space in front of Rayleigh Tower has now a study centre under it.
Across the park with the library extension on the right.
The walkway between the North Towers. The towers from left to right, Tawney, William Morris and Keynes. There is another building squeezed in between William Morris and Keynes. My first year was in William Morris, second year I shared a study room in Keynes 6 and in my last year I had a room in Keynes 2.
Another view of Keynes Tower.
