On the way back from Suffolk I called at Wivenhoe Park, the campus of my university near Colchester, to have a guided tour of the campus.
I parked in the Valley car park and walked to one of the new buildings, the Siberrad Student Centre, to meet my guide for the tour. My first views of the university buildings and of the library brought back lots of memories.
The Siberrad building is between the library and the lower lake.
I had contacted the university’s Alumni office made my appointment for about 10 am. When we met, Sarah gave a goody bag with the latest Alumni magazine, a fridge magnet and a booklet about ‘famous’ alumni.
As we walked through the squares, Sarah updated me about the university’s expansion plans as we walked through the squares down to Square 2. There we went through a passageway towards the Boundary Road. We passed by extensions to the buildings, the UK Data Archive building and came to the Essex Business School. This building is an eco-friendly building and inside is all wood and trees – very different to the other buildings that I remember.
Keynes Tower
We walked back up to the North Towers where I took pictures of the outside of my old room in Keynes Tower and and Sarah took my picture with Keynes Tower behind me.
