This morning I was discussing  the next software release for an ongoing project. We were swapping documents and screenshots using a combination of email and Microsoft Live Messenger (aka Instant Messenger). Plus the usual banter about the lousy weather and what happenned over the weekend.

However, my colleague had just landed at Manilla in the Philippines and had first set-up his 3G connections with the local telephone company, had checked the servers back in Europe and then had started uploading all the code he had written on the plane before we did our bring up.

We do rather take for granted how easy it is now to work from anywhere and all the connections that are possible.

Anyway, I had better get back to my actions  and continue talking to my friend in California about the rain in the Sierras over the weekend.
