Whale breaching in fjord near Akureyri

After leaving Akureyri we passed several tourist boats in Eyjafjordur and this whale breached close to one of them. See the other images from this day  earlier in Akureyri here.

Tourists are asked not to eat whale meat

The “Meet Us Don´t Eat Us,” is a joint project between IFAW and IceWhale (the Association of Icelandic Whale Watchers). The objective of the campaign is to educate tourists not to sample whale meat in Icelandic restaurants and help to remove the commercial market for the meat in Iceland.
