Dinner at Goodwin
We walked back to the Viru Gates through lightly falling snow to Goodwins.
Goodwin was empty apart from six Americans on the next tables and we were soon enjoying a bottle of Malbec. Our steaks were accompanied by shared chips and assorted vegetables and an expensive bottle of water. We were finished within the hour and we were again on our way to Dunkri and The Beer Hall.
Desserts at The Beer House
After we left Goodwin’s the snow had covered the streets as we walked back to the the Town Hall Square for the last time.
The previous evening I had watched the lady next to us eating a dessert in a beer glass and we had decided to split our meal to eat dessert here. We walked through to the back area and ordered our desserts and some more beers.
The whole restaurant was nearly empty and at times there were only us and two more couples in the back hall of the restaurant.
Enjoying our last walk in the park
When we left the temperature had dropped even more. Before reaching the Viru Gates we stopped at McDonalds to pick up some croissants for breakfast. The queue for the burger pickup was long but there was no queue for the McCafe and our breakfast.
In the Police Garden Park (the park in the front of the hotel) we stopped to watch the light display on the hotel as the gold drops fell in sequence then all began to flash. Behind us the lights were still shooting up the front of the Novira Plaza.
The hotel bar was empty but for one other customer. Every other time we passed by it had been busy even at 10 am in the morning. We chatted to the barman while we enjoyed our beer and wine and relaxed after our 18,000 step day!
The lights above the bar made a great image for my one of my 2018 January Treasure Hunt themes of colourful curves.
