Josephine Cafe
The congregation was leaving the Orthodox Church on Vene as we passed. Just past the church we stopped for a rest at the Josephine Cafe. Inside it was all art deco and was very cosy.
I added chilli chocolate to my order of black tea. Their kick only started a few moments after swallowing. The cafe had wi-fi and the table across the aisle from us was designated as the table to use for laptops. As we left the cafe was filling up with local residents having coffees and hot chocolates. Clearly a place to be recommended.
Back to Viru and lunch at the Arizona Saloon
Along Vene we turned down the alley called Katariina Kaik. Along the wall were tombstones recovered over the years from the church.
At the end of the alley we could see the walls that we had walked along the day before. Once back on Viru we went to the Arizona for lunch.
I had draft Saku and a toasted ham and cheese sandwich. Linda’s mushroom soup was delicious. We sat in the window and watched people walking up and down Viru.
Before the Viru gates we called at one of the restaurants, Goodwin, and made a dinner reservation for 7 pm.
Shopping
On our way back to the hotel we went through the Viru Keskus shopping mall and the large department store that was there. We bought some of the reflective badges we had seen people wearing at one of the small shops in there.
These are the streets and crossing on our way down Gonsiori after the shopping mall.
We rested for a couple more hours reading books and having the odd glass of wine. The hotel’s free wi-fi was fast enough that I could play The Acoustic Storm from WSLP using the Internet Radio app on my phone.
