Lights and the night shoot
The two planes were then lit with portable lights.
No more hand holding as I joined everyone else with tripods. By now I was shivering so much that using a tripod was probably a good idea. The shots were being orchestrated and the re-enactors had a count down to when they were asked to ‘freeze’ Then they stayed still still for up to to 30 seconds or more. Several my shots were out of focus when i examined them for this blog and I realised that I had been holding the tripod leg and shivering. Looking back I can only feel admiration for the re-enactors as they must have been colder still.
I climbed up one of the step ladders for a different angle of the plane.
