This was the second round of the print league at Bracknell Camera Club in the 2022-2023 season. This round was for two open images but I only submitted one. This print was similar to my first round prints and was from a batch of prints prepared for an earlier season when all print competitions were cancelled.
And then he kissed her
In July 2021 I was in London doing a architectural street walk. We visited the roof terrace at One New Change and others were enjoying the vibe there too!
Summary of judge’s comments
… it is a jolly good photograph, I don’t know if they were related to you or whether you were just doing your Henri Cartier-Bresson and just saw them there
… it is well taken, in focus, the background is just dropped down nicely
… you have got this diagonal sort of interest in there which adds to the obvious feelings that the gentlemen has for the lady
… I would suggest one thing the light is falling on her [] and on his shoulders , I wondered if you consider4ed actually lightening up the area of faces , because he is kissing her and although as taken it probably was in shadow , as you can see the light coming down on the inside of the lady’s arm and forehead, I would have lightened it up a little bit even going to the extent of perhaps a mask and perhaps defocussing just a bit more
The score
There were 29 images in this round in the Print League. “And then he kissed her” scored 8.5.
