The rain was already falling when we arrived at the Guards Polo Club in Windsor Great Park. The presentation for the earlier game was held in the clubhouse and form the state of the riders they had been out in the rain and mud for this game!
After a relaxing lunch from Mosimann’s we went outside under our umbrellas to watch The Duke of Cornwall’s Trophy.
And it was still raining !
The Duke of Cornwall’s Trophy
We joined one other lady on the bleachers to watch the first half.
After two chukkas the rain eased and some members of the audience left the clubhouse to stamp on the many divots.
I didn’t have the advantage of a boot lid on the bleachers.
The second half
The commentator praised our fortitude in the rain but was unable to encourage anyone else to join us in the rain.
The second half started with a flurry and we had a lot of the action in front of us. It was now worth it balancing my camera and the umbrealla as the play was right there.
The level of skill in the conditions was amazing and the game was very exciting. This was the final score.
We then all gathered in the clubhouse for the presentation. Here is the winning team, Park Place.
