The Leake Street tunnel is one of my ‘quick stop’ places to visit after arriving at Waterloo. Leave the station and head for the signposted exits to the London Eye. Then go down the steps before the foot bridge onto York Road. Walk past the shops and eventually on your left you’ll come to Leake Street.
Inside the tunnel
We walked through the tunnel looking at the street art before turning back to re-trace our steps to York Road.
Looking up this is a mural by Olivierr.
From his Instagram post the model is Hellana.
These are a sample of the art we passed as we walked through the Leake Street tunnel.
This was close to the other end of the tunnel.
Maybe not Dan Dare’s nemesis – the Mekon.
More portraits
I think this is by Rico.
Further down and on the panelling.
This art was on the ceiling and unfortunately obscured by the lights.
Other end of Leake Street
On the way back we stopped to chat to an artist who was prepping a part of the wall.
