Something New – projected digital images

This week’s projected image competition was on a theme of “Something New” at Bracknell Camera Club.

I have to admit that as it was the Christmas holidays I cheated and went back through old images. The bird was taken in 2009 on top of ivy on the fence and the extreme water sports was off a beach in St Lucia last year.

Judge’s comments
A baby bird is in line with the theme, sitting among the greenery in the sunlight, good exposure

Shame that the bird has its eye’s closed

My eyes are drawn toward the blue, not sure if it is a building

Looking again, suggest a tighter crop around the bird

Perhaps in line as this looks like a piece of new technology, not sure if the boat on the left is connected but it does fill the left corner

Obviously not a bright day, lots of green behind and probably this was the best shot possible

perhaps some cropping possible on the right hand side

The scores

Both scored 8 out of 10 – I was surprised as neither are particularly exciting. I was more interested in how everyone else tackled the theme, their composition and the comments (and scores) from the judge.
