In our earlier post we described how to use tags to select and then to send messages to your LinkedIn connections. This post is an extra reminder to double check how you send these messages.
One of the great features of organising your tags is that you can message a selected ‘group’ of your connnections based upon how you have tagged them.
Select Contacts > Connections and on the left-hand side of the page you will see the Tags area.
Select a tag (highlighted in blue in the left hand column) and then on the right of the contact list click on send message. A message box appears for you to enter your message plus the list of recipients. You could further refine the recipients list by scrolling through and deleting individual addressees.
And then comes the important part, look at the check boxes below your message:
If you leave the default settings ALL of your selected connections’ names and addresses will be visible – this is probably not what you want !
Thanks to Graham Edwards of Brand Dynamics who suggested that we should emphasis the use of this particular check box.
