I wanted to get a closer look at the amazing clock but the crowds by now were 5 or 6 deep for me to get a wide-angle view.
While we waited for everyone to catch up I watched the crowds passing up and down one of the staircases.
We left as we came in through the Egyptian collection. We learned that after the Revolution the crowds had been curious about the wrapped mummies and had opened some of the closed sarcophagus and had unwrapped the mummies inside.
