Gary Williams, a late lunch and then a restful afternoon
Immediately after the show we went to see Gary Williams’ show in the theatre – this was at 2 pm.
Then it was a late pizza and beer for lunch on the Royal promenade before we went back to our cabin.
Our balcony was sheltered from the worst of the wind and we sat outside and watched the sea until it was time to change for dinner.
Evening on the Baltic
It was another formal night and our pre-dinner dinner drinks were in the R bar. As this was a sea day the Deck 3 restaurant was already full. The tables behind us in the centre were already full as we sat down.
I had a delicious Cobb salad, a filet steak plus some of the extra vegetables that we ordered every meal and finally a banana crumble with coffee ice cream.
This was our day to catch up on the ship’s entertainment and at 9:15 pm we were in the theatre watching Mike Doyle who was as funny as we’d seen him on P&O before. He did sing the same songs but had mainly different jokes.
Now we knew the time for the Great Belt bridge transit and this meant that we’d have to stay entertained until midnight.
My first silent disco
After the theatre we went up to Izzys, the renamed bar, now I disco. There were ship’s security on the entrance checking everyone entering were over old enough to be there.
We were given headphones as we walked in and told to pick one of the channels to hear the music. We were soon dancing to the music on the headphones and having a great time. Around us the dance floor was packed, everyone dancing to the music on their headphones.
Taking the headphones off was eerie as at first only the conversation of people on the tables could be heard; then as a chorus came in the music, the voices of the dancers filled the venue!
Two of us left at 11.40 pm to see the Great Belt Bridge. I called at our cabin and layered up with extra clothes before meeting outside Reception and heading back out to the deck.
