After lunch in Pushkin we headed back into St Petersburg to visit St Isaac’s Cathedral, the Church of the Spilt Blood, the Faberge Museum and finally the St Peter and Paul Cathedral and fortress.
Our first cruise on Royal Caribbean took us to Oslo, Copenhagen, Helsinki, St Petersburg, Tallinn, Stockholm, Skagen, Stavanger and back to Southampton.
Day 7 Saturday 29th June: First afternoon in St Petersburg Russia
The drive from Pushkin was just as frenetic as our journey there. I did manage to grab a shot of the gates as we left the town.
Then I settled back and took grab shots as we went back into St Petersburg.
Saint Isaacâs Cathedral
On the way to the Cathedral, Svetlana explained the history of the cathedral and how it was now a museum. Outside the cathedral was very busy.
These are the doors where we waited for Svetlana to pick up our tickets.
Inside it was very crowded.
The tiled images originally on the walls have been preserved and then replicated.
We all left the Cathedral after some free time and went outside we realised that that Svetlana was waiting for us just inside the Cathedral at the exit door. Linda broke all the rules and went back through the exit gates and back inside to find her.
