We could now count over 20 hinds in the stag’s group.
Our fallen tree had provided a great vantage point of the activity on the top of the hill in front of us.
Time to go
The hinds were all settling down and as we couldn’t hear any more stags we decided that it was time for breakfast. This was again bacon rolls with a cup of tea at the Pen Ponds Cafe. This morning it was even busier with a party of walkers using it as a handy meeting spot.
The roads within the Park were still being resurfaced so we had to drive almost the whole way around the in an anti-clockwise direction to get back the gate we had entered. As we drove around the Park back to the Richmond Gate the cyclists easily kept up with us in the 20 mph speed limit.
