At my recent visit to Blists Hill Victorian Town I took the following picture in The Candle Factory:
This was taken using my Canon EOS 5D Mark III with the lens set at 50mm and with the following exposure f/5 at 1/80 second and with ISO 25,600.
As you may have guessed The Candle Factory was dark except for the light streaming in through the window at the side of the vat of tallow. I worked on the image to remove the over exposed floor, sides of the vat and the wall behind the hands.
This version was judged in an internal competition at the camera club and received a number of comments from the judge, the version below reflects the judge’s suggestion on cropping.
