Evening on board
We had missed Happy Hour and instead went to the Captain’s Circle event. I had some sushi washed down by Grolsch beer. Both were very welcome as I had had a day light on both liquids and food.
After 6.15 pm again out on our balcony, we watched as Coral Princess threaded her way through all the ships at the Pacific end of the of the Panama Canal, waiting to enter.
Dinner was in the Bordeaux Restaurant on a table with Australians and a couple of British folks who now lived in Texas. I had a sort of chicken nuggets plus dip, a surf and turf main followed by a rhubarb pastry finishing off with a pot of tea.
The evening’s entertainer was John Bressler. He gave a slightly manic performance on the piano accompanied by the ship’s orchestra. His piano playing was excellent and we definitely warmed to his jokey asides by the end of the show.
As we were leaving we chatted to the Deputy Cruise Director. We discovered that she was from Gedling (near Nottingham, in the UK) and had gone to the same senior school as me, all be it much later!
Now was definitely a time to back to the cabin for a sleep.
