Galleria Mall
Back on Beach Boulevard we waited for the Sun Trolley and took it to the Gallaria Mall. This was a lot smaller than Saw Grass Mills but it did have a Macy’s with the all important perfume section. Out in the mall I spotted an interesting addition to the Indian motorcycle family.
Once we had had our fill of shopping we went outside to catch the Sun Trolley back. We just missed yet another rain shower out by the trolley stop.
But as we rode back along Beach Boulevard the driver shouted to everyone on the trolley to look out at the ocean. The anchored ships were soon no longer visble as a rain squall rolled in and hid them from view. Moments later the trolley was in the middle of the down pour. The driver stopping to pick up bedraggled tourists who had waved for a pickup in between stops.
Panarettos and then more shopping
Once back on 17th we left the trolley and went to the shops. After a while we decided to go and try a bar at the end of the strip mall, Panarettos. Two draft beers were over $13 and I’m guessing they were not interested in us as we were not eating – not a great experience.
We left for more important business at the supermarket. This was to pick up some salads, beer and ready prepared turkey and cheese rolls from the deli. Next we called at the Crown wine shop to pick up a couple of bottles of wine to take with us onto the ship.
Lunch and a restful afternoon
Lunch was late and consisted of the rolls and a glass of Red Stripe beer. The rain had finally passed so we went out by the hotel pool for the rest of the afternoon.
Later in the afternoon it was time again for the hotel’s complementary wine and snacks. Sitting out side we chatted to other hotel guests and discovered that almost everyone around us would be on the ship the next day.
Back in our room we re-packed the suitcases and placed them in our sitting room ready to be picked up. Our dinner was the leftover chicken and steak from Outback plus the salad from the supermarket.
My evening finished by watching new season TV programmes that we may get in the UK in a year or two.
