Out on the Bay we were on the Blackfin again
The boat was not full just the same as yesterday’s morning trip. We had the same captain but with a different crew and naturalist. As we left the harbour, one of the sea lions was perched on the buoy again.
Blackfin followed the coast past 17 Mile Drive and Carmel as the Captain had been told over the radio that there were 6 humpbacks on that side of the Bay. On our way when we saw these birds feedingĀ we thought we’d found whales early.
Our first Humpback whale of the afternoon
We then saw some spouts and set off towards them. When we arrived there was just one left diving.
On our port side we were close to the golf course at Pebble Beach.
Another Humpback whale diving
We then had a busy time as the whales surfaced and then dove down again around us.
They even came close to Blackfin before diving.
