A humpback and sea lions together
On the way back towards the Wharf we spotted an area of water that looked to be almost boiling. On closer examination it was a lot of sea lions. Then just as suddenly the sea went still.
The captain waited a short distance away and we all watched that patch of sea. Then the sea lions appeared and a Humpback came up through the melee doing a surface lunge and filling its mouth with water and fish.
The sea lions had been corralling the fish and the Humpback was taking advantage of all their efforts in gathering the fish into one place.

On our way back again!
We saw another group of sea lions and whales away to our side but now Blackfin was on its way back in already 30 minutes late than scheduled.
Looking back out of the Bay there was no activity.
But towards the shore we could see the water ‘boiling’ again.
These were our last whales before reached the harbour at Monterey.
