Back to San Francisco
We were early for the Blue & Gold back to Pier 41. Instead we caught another boat that was going back to the Ferry Terminal at the end of Market.
The two bridges were still obscured by mist.
On the way back we passed on the other side of Alcatraz.
Getting closer to the city we could see that the mist had begun to clear above us.
Princess Cruises’ Grand Princess was at the cruise ship terminal.
We arrived at the ferry terminal and to get to Market we had to pass through the very busy building.
We caught the F-Line to Pier 39 and had our last walk around Pier 39.
Last evening in Marina
We then went up to Beach to check where the Avis offices were and then it was back on a Route 30 trolley bus to Marina. We sat outside one of the many bars on Chestnut under a space heater and enjoyed a drink of San Francisco lager and watched the crowds on the street pass by.
Behind us three locals were discussing their venture capital funding and the start-up of Internet related companies where they all worked. It seems that nothing much has changed in San Francisco!
We picked up a salad from the Marina deli and went back to the hotel.
This was the first time that we’d stayed at this hotel without a car and for once the car park was almost empty!
After we’d packed ready for our move to Monterey and our whale watching I checked my email. Our first session had been cancelled but we were offered a 20% discount on another earlier trip.
