Fisherman’s Wharf
Back on Chestnut we caught the MUNI trolleybus route 30 to Fisherman’s Wharf. On this first trip we missed the opportunity to save some money by asking for the senior’s fare. We left the trolley bus at Hyde and walked down to Ghiradelli Square for some chocolate.
We then walked along the Embarcadero towards Pier 39.
Parts of Fisherman’s Wharf were under repair with almost a block of shops closed.
Pier 39 was very busy and we walked down to have a look at the sea lions.
At the end of the pier I had my first proper look at Alcatraz. There we met passengers off the Coral Princess.
The Golden Gate with no mist and lots of sunshine on Pier 39.
Upstairs at the end of the pier we went into one of the restaurants to have a drink. We sat at the bar and decided that we had had enough walking for the day.
Next to us were a couple who had just dropped family members off at Pier 27 to gon Coral Princess’ return cruise to Fort Lauderdale.
One last image of Alcatraz from the end of Pier 39.
The city’s skyline for Pier 39.
The pier was busy as we walked to catch our bus.
