A quick shop at WalMart
We left the taxi at the WalMart over the street form the ship and walked on the shaded walkways through the car park to the store. The store was very busy with not only locals and tourists but with passengers and crew. We watched as folks off the ship were stocking up on food and drinks to take back on board. We added a couple of bottles of wine and tonic water to our basket but did skip adding chocolates and sweets for once!
Walking back to the ship out of the shade we had to cross the busy roads and by the time we reached the secure area we were in need of another drink.
Back on board
The stalls along the quayside were very busy. We walked along the two rows of stalls looking at souvenirs and T-shirts and were persuaded to buy a couple of T-shirts with Puerto Vallarta logos.
The drinks stall was handily placed close to the queue to board the ship and we bought a couple of beers and sat in the shade. We watched as the coaches returned and all the passengers queuing to get back on board. We waited until the queue had died down before we went back on board.
These are the views from our balcony.
Once in our cabin we watched the the quay from our balcony as the stall holders began to pack up. Then we heard an announcement asking for four passengers to call reception urgently. This message was repeated several times as we guessed that theses passengers had not made it back on time for the ship to leave.
Then a taxi appeared and two couples, who recognised from dinner, climbed out and slowly(!) made their way to the remaining gangplank encouraged by a ship’s officer. These were clearly the missing passengers.
Leaving Puerto Vallarta
The moment that they were on board the last gangplank came up and the ship moved away from the quay at 4.45 pm. We went up on deck to watch the ship leave.
We watched birds tracking the ship and caught fleeting glimpses of dolphins
Our evening
It was Italian night for dinner. I had veal and for dessert a three ice-cream cake – all delicious.
In the theatre we went to watch the comedy and music of Duncan Task.
Before we stopped for the night we went to the International Cafe to wind down with a coffee and a cup of tea and back in our cabin it was time for yet another clock change!
