Tuesday 6th October 2020 – Runswick Bay
Heading back to Whitby we called at Runswick Bay – see page 14. Unfortunately nowhere was open so we had to make do with a brisk walk to the beach and take in the views.
We drove through Sandsend and it was as busy as earlier in the day – see page 15.
Tuesday 6th October 2020 – Whitby Abbey
Not stopping at Sandsend gave us more time and we drove through Whitby and then up to the Abbey car park – see page 21.
The English Heritage pay and display car park was relatively empty and we made our way to the entrance. It was getting late and we decided to not enter the grounds but to walk around the Abbey until we reached St Mary’s Church at the top of the steps.
