Day 24: Monday 17th October 2022: The Atlantic
After we left the late performance in the Piazza we found a corridor closed and a reminder that Covid should still be taken seriously.
The Moon after midnight
And our day starts on Sky Princess
This morning was yet another late breakfast for us. The buffet was busy as everyone else seem to have had the same idea of catching up on some sleep.
The weather wasn’t being kind to us as we had rain at the end of the morning. Rather than walking round the ship, we stayed in a cabin reading and watching a film.
Rather than yet another pizza I went and had another couple of street chicken tacos.
Afternoon and evening
The staff captain’s new message warned about high winds and that caution was required out on deck. His prediction was correct as Deck 18 was especially windy as we passed the stern part of the deck.
We enjoyed a drink in the Vista lounge. While we were there we had an announcement from the staff captain that one of our fellow passengers was seriously ill. Unfortunately, a medevac flight to Ireland was not possible and instead the ship would run as fast as possible to Southampton.
Dinner was a busy affair in the restaurant on Deck 5 midships. We were on a full table for eight and all were good company.
The at 9:30 there was a ‘Piazza Showcase’ with the Sky Princess cast performing “can’t stop the feeling”.
The West Enders in the Sky Princess Theatre
The West Enders were in the theatre and were very good.
Then it was back to the Piazza to enjoy Ocean Boulevard’s sets.
We were joined by our near neighbours (who had joined in New York) and we sat chatting way past the Piazza being cleared up.
