Day 22: Saturday 15th October 2022: North Atlantic
Overnight, the ship was both pitching and rolling on the Atlantic.
To celebrate another lost one hour’s sleep we allowed ourselves the luxury of a very late breakfast.
The Deck 16 buffet was quiet. The only downside was that the part of the buffet where we were eating was already closing. Out on Deck 18, we had to cope with the ship pitching. Plus as we turned some of the corners we were almost bowled over with strong winds. Despite the winds the ship was still being accompanied by sea birds.
Wine tasting
The noon talk from the bridge confirmed our suspicions that we were in large Atlantic swells. These were 4.5 meter swells with over 32 mph winds. After lunch we attended the wine tasting held in one of the dining rooms.
We listened to the description of the wine and then tasted the six wines in turn. An interesting experience as neither us were inspired by any of the wines …
Our afternoon was broken up by when went to watch the the passenger’s flashdance in the piazza. This was very energetic!
Early evening light over the Atlantic
We went to the restaurant at the aft below the Vista Lounge for dinner. We made sure to leave the restaurant in plenty of time to ensure that we could get seats in the theatre.
Neil Lockwood in the Theatre
The performer this evening was Neil Lockwood, from ELO Part II.
What a great performance and here are some more images for his set.
Ocean Boulevard in the Piazza
After the theatre, we headed to the Piazza for more music from Ocean Boulevard.
Overnight we were set to lose another hour as the clocks went back.
Before I forgot I took pictures of the plugs available in our cabin, 2 and 3 pin sockets were available.
We now had three more days at sea before we reached Southampton.
And another clock change…
