Rocketbook was my 11th Kickstarter project and was scheduled to be delivered in August 2016.
My Rocketbook arrived at the end of May – earlier than forecast. A first for any of my Kickstarter projects. I have downloaded the iPhone app and am now setting up links to my Dropbox and email accounts. Other Cloud services will follow. This is where I note at the back of the book the chosen destinations for each symbol.
To recap, I can write (or draw) in the book using only a Pilot Frixion pen. At the bottom of each page is a series of symbols and a QR code. I put a cross to mark the destination in the Cloud of the notes on that page (note – I can send to more than one destination) and then using the app I scan the page and the app sends an image of the page to the selected destination(s). The QR code helps the app to decide in which order to send the scanned pages.
Clearing the pages in the Rocketbook
Once the book is full (or I want to clear the pages) then the book is placed in a microwave face up with a mug of water on the circles and zapped until the logo goes from light to dark. Then this is repeated with the book face downwards. The book is then allowed to cool and the logo returned to a dark colour. The Pilot Frixion pen’s ink will have evaporated leaving the pages clear to be able to use again (that is the theory).
And here are the special Pilot pens on Amazon – I have ordered other colours to add to the black one suplied with the book.
