The PBL Charger is the 19th project that I have backed on Kickstarter.
The production chargers were held up by both Chinese customs and then by the second shipping agent in Hong Kong on their way to the USA. The creator then sent out the deliveries using express tracked shipping via the US Postal Service. I received at least one email a day from the USPS tracking the package and then much to my surprise messages from the Royal Mail updating about progress here in the UK.
Unpacking the PBL chargers
The chargers were in a brown box with lots of packing.
The chargers packaging and travel case.
I was disappointed that only one stand had been included in the box – this was the Kickstarter stretch goal for backers after reaching $30,000.
This extra allows a phone to be charging while viewing content.
Each charger comes with a charging dock that connects to any USB charger (note NOT USB-C!). This does make travelling easioer as the dock can utilise any charger that is available for other devices.
Instruction booklet and optional pads to help ‘stick’ phones to the PBL are also in the box.
We ordered just one travel case. This can carry leads, a PBL and a PBL dock.
The PBL charger has a USB-C charging outlet if phone or device isn’t Qi capable. Now I need to buy more USB-C cables. My laptop and probabl;y my next phone and iPad will use USB-C so I might as well start now buying yet more cables!
