Sky Princess sailed overnight from Bar Harbor to St John in Canada. This was our second visit to St John and was our originally scheduled visit. Due to the tides it was always planned to be only a short visit.
Day 17: Monday 10th October 2022: Saint John New Brunswick
Also docked here was Enchantment of the Seas. We waited and had a late breakfast in the buffet. After our earlier visit, we were in no rush to go ashore.
Saint John City Market
Once off the ship our walk took us to the park and then to the City Market. Despite the day, being a national holiday in Canada, the market was open.
The Boardwalk
After the market, we walked to the row of bars and restaurants and out onto the boardwalk.
The bars now had umbrellas outside.
Back to Sky Princess in Saint John
An advertised interesting place to visit!
Then it was a brief look around the container village before going back aboard.
Definitely one of the shortest port visits we have ever had!
Sky Princess
We went back to the poolside grill and ordered my favourite tacos and then I joined Linda back in the buffet.
Sky Princess left early afternoon and we continued our “rest day” by watching movies in the cabin.
We went to the restaurant Deck 6 mid-ships for dinner. Our table companions had owned a furniture store that specialised in beds and mattresses. We learned a lot, especially why some of the national “bed “chains were so cheap and why we had to avoid beds bought from them.
Our rest day came to an end when we joined in with the dancing in the Piazza with music from the house band.
Update for our port day in Halifax
We had a letter from the Captain in our cabin about an earlier than planned departure from Halifax.

Dear Princess Guest:
I hope that you were able to enjoy the picture-perfect views of Bar Harbor and the warm weather of Saint John – NB.
I wish to advise you of an adjustment to our scheduled itinerary. Due to port restrictions, we will now depart Halifax, Nova Scotia at 6:00 PM on Tuesday, October 11, 2022 rather than 8:00 PM as previously scheduled. After our departure, we will proceed to St. John’s, Newfoundland and expect to arrive at 8:00 AM on Thursday, October 13 as scheduled.
Guests with Shore Excursions booked, the operating times of your excursion have not been affected and you should continue to follow the instructions printed on your tour ticket. Guests with independent arrangements should plan to be back on board by 5:30 PM.
We apologize for any inconvenience this change may cause and we appreciate your understanding. On behalf of all the Officers and teammates, we look forward to continuing our voyage together.
