This is my image for the fourth round of the internal digital image league competition for the 2016-2017 season. The image is from my first session with Timeline Events around London on an old London bus just after Christmas.
Old and new on Regent Street
I did take this image to a camera club workshop for peer review and was advised to ‘loose’ the Christmas decoration in the top left of the image.
Judge’s comments
… the London Bus
… nice shot, nice and sharp, nice image, then you have the new Routemaster coming along the outside giving a good feeling of movement
… the one static and the one moving
… Regent Street? Christmas lights up here, they give it a sense of location
… but I’m not sure if they aren’t a little distracting from the main feature of the two buses
… your eyse go to the old LT … but then there’s this bright light up in the top left hand corner, takes my eye away
… there’s a lovely curve of the buildings …
Another suggestion after the judge’s comments was perhaps I should have included ‘Christmas’ in the title, if I really wanted to keep the distracting decoration!
Time to fire up Photoshop…
