Ostervag
Once in the busy shopping centre of Stavanger, we went looking for a favourite café along the pedestrian precinct, Ostervag. To get there we passed the statue of the boy and girl and their mirrored street art behind the gates.
When we had reached the end of the precinct we realised that the French café was closed. After a quick search for somewhere else we sat outside a bar on one of the cross streets.
This street had lots of art that I remembered from an earlier visit to Stavanger.
The Valberg Tower
After our rest we continued our walk and went up to the Valberg Tower before coming back down to the harbour. I was pleased to see this large mural was still there as we walked down.
This was a fascinating pattern on the walls.
The hotel walls had “lost” the street art installation of little men on balconies fastened to the wall.
We visited each of the clothing/souvenir shops before going back on board Iona.
Lunch was a special treat of fish and chips in one of the restaurants on Deck 8 along in the Quays. This was an excellent lunch and best of all the area was not too busy.
