Not so early start Thursday 28th June
Our start this morning was a lot later than the previous morning.
We crossed the road and followed the path across the field and started our climb back up the hill just after 7 am. In Mark’s book he has documented various vantage points for taking images of the Castle and we had decided that up the West Hill would be perfect if there was any mist. See pages 32 to 37 inclusive.
Unfortunately for us there was no mist this particular morning.
Corfe Castle
Once up the hill we realised that we had already missed the best early morning light.
Steve kindly added to my collection of ‘selfies’ to be used on my social media accounts.
We sat and watched the castle for a while and had a cup of tea.
The white stones provided some entertainment as we added ‘Corfe’ to the view.
Breakfast in Wareham
We were early for breakfast in Wareham again. The car park had spaces and was free while we ate our breakfast at The Quay Inn. We had the full English breakfast and it was as excellent as the morning before.
West Lulworth
After breakfast we went back to our caravan via West Lulworth. The Army range was already busy and we could clearly hear the rattle of large calibre machine guns as we passed.
We had time to park and have a look at the houses along Main Road after we had passed The Castle Inn.
The Parish Council had restored this wall and put the old letter box out of harms way!
