We combined our Thames evening dinner cruise with a visit to the Titanic Exhibition being held in Canada Water.
Canada Water Cafe
After leaving the Underground Station at Canada Water we walked a few hundred yards up the road and went into the cafe. We had about an hour or so to wait before our scheduled entry time and it seemed a good idea to have lunch early. It was till chilly and around this part of the Thames there was quite a wind so we elected top join the queue inside and wait for a table.
The toasted sandwiches were excellent and as we ate the cafe slowly emptied. Our timing had been spot-on for the local lunch crowd. As we left we received directions to the exhibition around the old dock.

Great food
We had a short wait for a table. The service was excellent and very friendly and helpful.
We chose to have toasted sandwiches and both were simply delicious.
A great place to go for lunch while waiting for the Titanic Exhibition.
The Titanic Exhibition in Canada Water
The exhibition was in what looked like an empty warehouse or retail space. The entrance was through what looked like a fire door and once inside we went up to one of two trestle tables to have our tickets scanned. We then scanned a QR code and this gave us access to the spoken tour of all the exhibits – this was an excellent way of finding our way around.
The exhibition was divided into parts that described the funding and building, life on board, the passengers in each of the classes, what happened after Titanic hit the iceberg, relics from passengers and finally relics that had been brought up from the seabed.
There was a section about the lack of life saving equipment and how the space was used for a wider promenade.
This piece of coal was brought up from the seabed. It had laid alongside the wreck of the Titanic ever since that fateful day.
The last section of the exhibition had panels that listed all the passengers and crew who died that day. The number of lost crew was staggering.
The Exhibition was lacking in any facilities for a drink. Walking up the side of the dock we went into the huge Decathalon sports store for a coffee and a long sit down.
