Venice
Once off the taxi we became part of the huge tourist mob that crowded the side of the canal. All of us making our way to or from Saint Mark’s Square.
We stopped at one of the hotels for a coffee and sat in the sun room and watched the crowds go past in cold outside. This allowed me to take a breath after slipping on the water taxi’s stairs.
St Mark’s Square
We joined the crowds walking towards St Mark’s Square. The people looking up the canal to the Bridge of Sighs were packed.
We skipped the queues inside St Mark’s Square and set off walking to the Rialto Bridge.
At our last visit the bridge had been under repair and we wanted to see it properly this time.
