On our left the hillside was scattered with targets.
After lunch we passed a road race taking place using the byways.
Lunch
The convoy pulled off the road and we stopped for lunch. The heavens opened as we ate.
The Hill
The convoy climbed back up to the plain up a very steep heavily rutted byway. We passed other cars parked just off the bye-way and people exploring and walking on the track. The combination of people, ruts, mud and incline had us both concentrating!
We joined public roads and passed through Bulford and past the the Rose and Crown and Bulford Camp.
Lots of Mud!
Then a hill.
Lots of water!
Onwards an upwards.
Another mud bath
Another stop at Greenlands
This brand new Defender was typical of all the vehicles – covered in mud!
And then on we went back across the plain.
Muddy ruts
Next we passed the Larkshill racecourse!
We were coming to end of the Salisbury Plain tour as we could see the houses in Larkshill ahead.
As we approached the end of the tour we passed the Royal Artillery compound with M270 MLRS rocket launchers.
We said our goodbyes in Larkshill not far from the garrison church where we had started the tour.
These are the images from our tour in the organisers Facebook group.
