Day 7 Sunday 22nd May At sea in transit to Southampton
We were very lucky and had a smooth passage through the North Sea. From the top decks the ship hardly seemed to be moving. We did pass close to some of the oil production platforms earlier in the morning.
Lunch was at our favourite restaurant on P&O – The Glasshouse.
The sea was calm all day and evening.
Aurora’s procedures for leaving passengers was a little different than other ships in the fleet (so far) and we had to have our suitcase outside the cabin before 8 pm, rather than being able to put them outside until midnight.
Day 8 Monday 23rd May Southampton
Aurora arrived early into Southampton to a beautiful morning and did an early morning spin before docking at the Mayflower terminal.
As always the next cruise’s supplies were ready to be loaded.
We had to wait into after 10 am to leave the ship in one of the bars. This is normally not an issue but we were amazed to hear two passengers telling the whole room how awful the ship was, how bad the food was and how they were looking forward to going home. Needless to say they were getting lots of tuts from around the room until finally they took the hint and stopped shouting out their opinions.
