On our fifth day in Cornwall we decided to walk further up the coast to the Levant Mine along the SW Coast Path. Then on Wednesday we caught the bus into Penzance.
Our planned break in Cornwall had been originally planned for February had been postponed and we re-booked at the same cottage later in the year in September.
Tuesday 21st September – Walk to the Levant Mine
We walked back down to the coastal footpath and this time turned North and headed for the Levant Mine but not before grabbing some more images of the Crown Mine..
The path wound its way towards the Levant Mine, sometimes close the cliffs and at other times inland.
This whole area must have been very active and we passed numerous fenced off shafts.
Some shafts were right at the cliff edge and had high walls around them.
The landscape was strewn with the remains of buildings alongside the path.
This mine had been capped off.
And the views were stunning.
