After our visit to Greys Court we were pleasantly surprised to find carpets of bluebells at the National Trust’s Cliveden. The roads to Cliveden from the A4 were under repair and after several diversions we parked in the second car park, the Woodland ca park. This was a first for us.
This car park is at the opposite end of the estate from the house itself. As we descended down to the banks of the River Thames we came across these bluebells at the side of the path.
At the side of the River Thames
We descended down to the river bank and started to walk towards Cliveden House. The river was quiet and we passed this couple paddle boarding.
We climbed the steps up to the formal gardens
and walked through the water garden.
After lunch we made our way down past the house and the formal gardens to descend back down to the river.
