Back over Erasmus Bridge
It was now nearly 2.30 pm and we definitely needed to have a sit down and rest our feet. Across the river we could see Iona and the three linked towers that make up ‘The Rotterdam’. The building is named after the the ship that used to sail from here to New York. The building hasd apartments, a hotel, shops, restaurants, gyms and offices.
Back onboard Iona
In our mail slot was a note detailing the ship’s requirement for us to both have a Covid test the following day. Everyone on the ship had to have one. The good news was that a negative test would allow us to leave the ship in Le Havre and even more important not going into quarantine when we landed in Southampton.
RISE in the SkyDome
After eating in the Pearl, we excused ourselves from the shared table and left to try and get seats in the SkyDome. The 3 0 minute was worth it as we did manage to get seats almost in the middle of the ‘stage’ below us.The introductory ‘music’ that played for these 30 minutes did get a little monotonous!
I am not going to try and describe the ‘story’ but just post some of my images.
Next day – Wednesday 15th December – At sea in the English Channel and then Le Havre
