This visit to Kew Gardens was yet another event postponed from 2020. We had chosen to go on a weekday evening to hopefully miss some of the crowds that might be there at a weekend.
My sat-nav was set to take us to the Ferry Lane car park but the second entrance to Kew Green from the A205 was temporarily closed! This meant we crossed the Thames and then had 10 minutes back street manoeuvres to get us back to the A205 going out of London. We then turned right past the Botanist On The Green pub into Kew Green. Once we made the turn we were soon at the floodlit car park on Ferry Lane.
We could see and hear planes coming into Heathrow through the low lying cloud.
The laser show displayed on the fountains was amazing.
From the gate we entered there were hardly anyone else on the walk. This changed when we reached the next gate. This was also where we stopped for something to eat.
One of the bridges took us over a lake with a globe of lights above and around as we walked through.
By the time we arrived back at the car park entrance we had walked over five miles – definitely time to leave!
