Apple Store on Fifth Avenue
The 2019 iPhones were now available for pickup and there were queues along the pavement outside the store entrance.
Looking down Fifth Avenue the security and extra traffic were jamming up the streets.
This Apple Store is below ground. As we were not picking up iPhones we were allowed to enter and catch the lift down.
What an amazing store this is. I picked up a higher power charger for our iPhones and iPads that had US plug connections.
Leaving the store we were joined by a couple with a stroller and three gentlemen all with UN badges. One of the ones next to me shifted and I realised that he was armed and was a bodyguard. The couple also noticed the gun and without any words we all waited until the three guys left the lift before sighing with relief and getting out onto Fifth Avenue.
Central Park
We were very close to Central Park and we could see a row of the famous carriages lined up.
After a little negotiations we climbed into one of the carriages for a short ride around the Park. The hotels along W 59th Street opposite the Park were protected by a row of refuse trucks.
Our coachman gave us a constant update about what we were seeing as we rode up Center Drive and then back to W 59th Street.
A rest on 7th Avenue
After the ride through the Park we headed down 7th Avenue past Carnegie Hall and went into one of the local bars for a rest.
After our pints of Blue Moon we started our walk back down 7th and then back to Pier 90.
