Sapphire Princess set off across the North Atlantic after leaving Halifax. Our crossing of the North Atlantic gave us lots of opportunities to read, watch films and the ship’s entertainment.
After lunch in Pushkin we headed back into St Petersburg to visit St Isaac’s Cathedral, the Church of the Spilt Blood, the Faberge Museum and finally the St Peter and Paul Cathedral and fortress.
We travelled to North Yorkshire to stay at Nidd Hall for a weekend as The Flyrights were performing there. We took the opportunity to visit Harrogate and both Bolton and Fountains Abbeys.
Our day in Venice with an early morning sail in to the cruise terminal. The day was wet but we did manage to visit the Rialto Bridge and do some shopping.
This was our first visit to Stockholm on a cruise ship. We visited the Vasa Musuem in the morning as planned. After Stockholm on our sea day we watched the spectacular RCI Ice Show.
On the 4th July just after midnight I watched as Explorer passed under the Great Belt Bridge then in Skagen we took the tourist bus to visit Grenen to see the two seas meet and then to visit the sunken church.
