Day 13 St George’s Grenada
After breakfast we caught the water taxi to Grand Anse beach. This has to be the best value taxi in the whole Caribbean, only costing $16 for a return trip for two.
There are a lot of businesses there and we turned left off the pier to get loungers from Jack Sparrow. This was $20 for two sun beds and an umbrella and best of all the loungers had cushions.
The bars around the beach all have free wifi and the codes came with the purchase of a drink. There is a hotel resort is still being built behind the beach but at least for this visit there was no pile driving taking place.
Beer was $15 for a bucket of six Stag or Carib – so good value.
The beach is a public beach and there was a steady flow of vendors punctuated by guys trying to persuade you to be pulled behind a speedboat or ride a jet ski. As we left we noticed that our fellow passengers had left their mark on the beach.
Once back on the ship after a day on the beach we watched the Rhum Runner return. On time for once ( well only 10 minutes late)
The last sail away of the cruise ended with all the entertainers, back room staff, Headliners, bands all coming out to take a bow.
After a quiet drink in the Blue Bar we joined our table for the final meal together in the Oriental restaurant as our fellow passengers were all travelling home the next day. Dinner was fish and chips followed by ice cream.
This was the last sunset image of this cruise, taken after we had left Grenada
