Charlotte Street continued
A rare Chevrolet Corvair – rear-engined and air-cooled.
Oldsmobile 4-4-2.
At Townsend Street we turned right and went into the farmer’s market. Inside the building on the left were the craft stalls plus stalls selling fresh eggs and vegetables. The right side of the building was filled with food stalls and tables.
After a wander around we went back up to Charlotte Street where more cars and trucks were arriving.
I called in the thrift store but couldn’t find a replacement hat. This sign was on a closed shop.
Tim Hortons
Back where we had joined the street was a Tim Hortons and we went inside and joined the queue.
This was an interesting coffee shop as it didn’t sell lattes so we just had a drip coffee and a cake each. The seating area was full and we went out across the road and sat on a wall in a parking lot.
The coffee and cakes were surprisingly good and we went back into Hortons to lose our trash and then we found a table with seats. Looking around as we can see lots of people on the Internet and we joined them for a quick download of email and WhatsApp messages.
Lunch at Governors
Sitting on the wall had had one advantage as we had seen a bar on the road parallel to Charlotte Street. The place looked very popular and was busy up on the roof area and outside on the patio. We found a table in the Sun and ordered some drinks.
It must’ve been the season for wasps and we will buzzed continually as we sat outside enjoying the sunshine.
Sobeys Supermarket in Sydney
We overheard our server giving directions to a supermarket and after our lunch we walked down to Prince Street and turned back towards Charlotte. We walked past empty or abandoned buildings and a disused railway line until we we came to a large parking lot.
Ahead of us was a Walmart and to our side was a Sobeys supermarket.
We just needed tonic water and resisted temptation to pick up chocolate or sweets. At the till I found a display with lots of hats and I picked up a replacement for my missing one.
On our way back we wandered along streets that ran parallel to Charlotte Street past a community centre.
These murals were on the walls of the theatre.
Once back on Charlotte Street I had a last opportunity to have a look at the cars and trucks on display.
