Early in the morning of Wednesday 25th September 2019, Sapphire Princess sailed into New York.
Our cruise to Canada and New England took us across the Atlantic to St John’s, Newfoundland; Sydney, Nova Scotia; Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island; two days in New York City; Newport, Rhode Island, Boston, Massachusetts; Rockland, Maine; St John, New Brunswick; Halifax, Nova Scotia; and back across the Atlantic to Southampton.
Either I was late of Sapphire Princess was a little early when I went out on deck. I missed sailing past the Statue of Liberty but I was out on deck as we sailed up the side of Manhattan Island.
The Promenade Deck was almost empty as everyone was on the upper decks for the best views.
As we neared our berth we passed the USS Intrepid museum.
At the end the museum’s pier we could see Concorde.
I wasn’t the only passenger to be dressed for the cold.
Next to our berth was a Disney cruise ship.
