Our walkabout
The Quincy Market was very busy.
After looking at the shops we moved on and followed the Freedom Trail line painted onto the pavement. We stopped for lunch and had bagels. We were surprised at how empty the restaurant was especially as how good the bagels were!
We followed the trail until the we reached a park then headed back looking for somewhere for a sit down, get a drink and get cool. We managed to choose a bar that didn’t serve Sam Adams but did enjoy a glass of Harpoon(!) instead.
By now it was after 3 pm and everywhere we walked was busy. We walked back through Quincy Market and joined the queue for a trolley bus back to the port.
The trolley bus didn’t have many spare seats. At the port we walked up to a gate by the quayside and were met by a solitary policemen. No terminal building, no security searches just a cursory glance at our cruise card and we were through. We dumped our bags in the cabin, picked up our books and went out on Deck 7 for a rest and a read.
Evening in Boston
The other ships passed Sapphire Princess as they left Boston in the later afternoon. This was our sign to go back to our cabin.
We tried to get seats in a very noisy Crooners Bar and instead went for an early evening meal. I had prawn cocktail, Caesar salad garlic lamb and a New York cheesecake. Later into the theatre, we did manage to find seats in the auditorium close to the front. We watched Amethyst perform. We have seen their magic and illusion act act a couple of times before on Princess ships.

Boston, Massachusetts, USA — Saturday 28th September 2019
Overnight Sapphire Princess steered various courses on route to Boston as she navigated the perimeter of the Nantucket Shoals, initially sailing due east before altering to port to the north northwest and finally approaching Boston harbour on a westerly heading.
