Boston was very busy on the hot Saturday that we visited. Our choice of trolley bus tour was probably ill-advised and we would have been better spending time on our own around the city.
Our cruise to Canada and New England took us across the Atlantic to St John’s, Newfoundland; Sydney, Nova Scotia; Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island; two days in New York City; Newport, Rhode Island, Boston, Massachusetts; Rockland, Maine; St John, New Brunswick; Halifax, Nova Scotia; and back across the Atlantic to Southampton.
Day 15 Saturday 28th October 2019: Boston, Massachusetts
As our planned excursion was late morning we had a leisurely breakfast at 8.45. We shared our table with 3 ladies and another couple. Lots of conversations about the cruise so far and what all had been doing in New York. We went to Explorers to wait to be called for our tour. We sat and listened to announcements about the gangplanks being too steep for passengers to safely leave the ship. We told repeatedly that replacement ones would be arriving soon. This wait was on top of the already delayed clearance that the ship had had!

There must have been 200 passengers or more waiting for the gangplanks to be cleared. We had to walk past the other docked ships to join our designated ‘trolley bus’.

We passed Cheers Bar but the building was blocked by tourist buses. The other sights flashed by on out whirlwind tour.
This was the last baseball game of the season at Fenway Park. Nearby lots were jammed with all the parked cars for the game.
