The Red Dog Saloon
The rain by now was more than drizzle and we took shelter in the Red Dog Saloon. The saloon was packed and we managed to find a small table at the back. We ordered beers from our server. We listened to the pianist hammering out songs just behind us, probably why the table was free! The saloon had several inches of sawdust on the floor.
This building was not the original building for the saloon but I’m sure the atmosphere was much the same.
Here is my Alaskan Amber.
Interesting graffiti on the toilet door. “For a good time ask for Laura”
The rain had eased when we left the saloon. We made our way back to the ship stopping at the T-shirt shop on the way back. We paused on the boardwalk to watch caught salmon going up to be processed.
Seaplanes were taking off and landing as we walked along.
Then we came to the Island Princess.
The revised aft of the ship is clearly visible with only limited access now available. Note how Deck 7 has been converted to cabins.
