We left our hotel in Montevideo just after breakfast. The weather had turned and a storm was raging along the sea front. We caught an Air Europa flight back to Madrid where we caught a connecting flight to Gatwick.

Antarctica and the South Atlantic Islands Day 20 : third day in South Atlantic to Montevideo
The last full day of the transit from the Falklands to Montevideo was warm with calm seas. Fram was now ahead of schedule and slowed down and the voyage became a cruise for a few hours with a BBQ out on deck.

This was the second full day of our transit from the Falklands to Montevideo. The weather was still cold alternating with blue skies and rain showers.

This was the first full day of our transit from the Falklands to Montevideo. We were still followed by giant petrels and albatross and saw our first commercial ship of the voyage.

Antarctica and the South Atlantic Islands: Saunders Island, Falklands Islands on Day 17
Our last landing of the voyage was on Saunders Island on our third day in the Falklands. There we saw Magellanic, Gentoo and King penguins as wells as dolphins and lots of different types of birds.

In the late afternoon of our second day in the Falklands, we visited Carcass Island to see Magellanic penguins and to have a high tea at the hotel there. We also had the wettest ride back to Fram of the whole voyage.
